Biggsie turns 40...

My hubby just turned 40. Hard to believe... I know...

I love this photo of him when he was little. He looks alot like Jack.

We had a party on the night before his birthday and invited some friends. We had just got back from New Zealand so we were a little over taking photos (that's why we don't have many of the party) Laura helped me decorate and made this amazing newspaper bunting that she hung up outside.

The party was alot of fun but unfortunately Jack got the tummy bug halfway through the party and added some decoration to the back patio. He then lay in my arms for the rest of the night, vomiting and high temperatures lasting until the following Monday. A huge big thank you to the amazing friends I have that stepped in and took photos for me, washed up and helped keep the party running smoothly. Thanks Jill, Tiff and Jules xxx

Laura's Birthday...

I can't believe my beautiful girl is 14 years old now. The time has gone so fast. Not a day goes past where I'm not thankful to God for blessing me with such a beautiful daughter and best friend. I love her so much...

We started off the day with presents. Laura woke early and found 4 big boxes on her bed. Yes, the lump in her bed is her... We can't show you her face cause she just woke up. :)

Then we surprised Laura and took her out for breakfast down the coast. We grabbed a couple of croissants and jam before we left home to keep our tummies satisfied for the half hour drive.

Hubby's birthday cake...

I wanted to make a special cake for Biggsie for his birthday and I remembered a couple of months ago he had commented on a Meringue in Jamie Oliver's cookbook that he would like to try.  So on went the apron and out came all the ingredients... I was a bit worried that it wouldn't turn out the same, but to my surprise it worked. And it was very yummy. And Biggsie was very happy too.

Laura helped me melt the choc and add the pear juice...

Then came the layering of roasted hazelnuts, whipped double cream, pears and hot choc sauce...

Biggsies Birthday and Fathers Day...

We had a great day yesterday spoiling Biggsie and making the day special.

It started off with a sleep in and then breakfast in bed...

In came a tray with bacon, eggs and buttered mushrooms and a cup of tea.

I took Jack's little table and chairs in beside the bed and we all had brekky in there with him.

* Sorry no pics... my bedroom wasn't tidy. :)

Then I gave chris my MacBook to use in bed and he surfed the net, checked facebooks b'day greetings and did some blogging.

Time for a quick shower and then his Mum arrived for morning tea and bought a cake.

Then we were off to one of his favourite Asian restaurants for lunch with his Mum, sis and fiance.  The food there is so beautiful.

Birthday Beer...

When we came home we  had a nice relaxing arvo and Biggsie helped me plant my flowers in the front yard and then we enjoyed his Meringue cake and off to bed early.

Now the countdown is own for Laura's B'day.... 11 sleepies to go.
