My old cubby...

I just saw my old cubby on the news tonight. It's an old vintage 1954 'don' caravan that has been fully renovated. My parents sold it a few years ago and the people that bought it fully restored it and tour with it now as a vintage caravan. It will be on show this weekend in Maroochydore.
It has been lovingly restored, complete with leadlight windows, polished timber floors, and chenille bed covers, and they tow it behind a 1961 Humber. (I found this photo of the van with it's new owners.)

I used it as my cubby house on our farm near Fernvale on the Brisbane River. Then my parents travelled with it to Western Australia and Tasmania. It was such a cute little caravan. It had double bunks and the table folded down to a double bed. Ahhhh.... Memories...

Jack loves Lego...

Chris found 2 buckets of Lego for $20 at a Garage Sale. It was Jack's brave present for going to the dentist and getting his 2 front teeth removed. Jack has played with the lego every day since then. From the moment he wakes up he is building and creating something new. He has already asked for lego for his birthday in May. When we went away camping the other week and it rained, we ended up visiting Kmart and finding Lego on sale and adding to his collection.

When I showed Jack this picture I found on google image search ' lego', you should have seen his face. He couldn't believe the whole car was made of lego... "Wow Mum, can you drive it? Can I get that set for my birthday?" He's so cute...

Handmade Home...

Can't wait for Amanda's new book to be released in August. It looks great. How does this woman do it?

Happy Birthday Mum...

Today is my Mum's birthday. I am so blessed to have such a beautiful caring Mum.

I love this photo of my Mum taken when she was little. She grew up at Camp Hill in the same house all her childhood life. (Laura's living in her 9th house and she is 14) :)

Happy Birthday cousin Bernadette...

Don't you just love old photos...

Happy Birthday Bernadette (that's who's holding me).

Ummm Jill, looking very cute with the hands on the hips. I would say this photo was taken in summer. The hats and underwear give it away...

Camping at Kingscliff...

You can plan to go away but you can't plan what the weather will be...
I was really looking forward to camping at Kingscliff for 5 nights with my family and Mum and Dad but the weather changed our plans. As soon as we set the camper up, the rain came down and didn't stop. It was so wet and windy we had to pack up and come home early. Alot of our stuff was getting wet and Chris and Jack were really sick....  Here are a few pics we managed to take without getting the camera wet.

Lots of Lego building with Jack and Richard Scarry reading....

This friendly crab tried to come into our camper and visit us.... Mmmm.... Thankfully Jack and I found him trying to come in the door on our way out the door.

Biggsie made a Roast Lamb and veggies in the new Cobb oven...

It was sooo yummy. It was the highlight of our trip. Laura made a beautiful homemade gravy to go with it. Even the potatoes went crunchy.

And here is Tweetie Pie trying to keep dry, or is it little yellow riding hood.
I need to get Laura on the other side of the camera. Due to the weather and other circumstances beyond my control there are no photos of Laura...
Sorry Laura, I will make it up to you real soon.. :) Actually in 2 weeks time Laura will be bridesmaid and I'm sure I will be posting many photos of her in her stunning dress. I can't wait to see her on the day. She looks so beautiful in the dress.

Fireproof Movie...

If you haven't seen the DVD "Fireproof", I highly recommend it. You can view the trailer here. We have a copy that we are happy to lend out to any who is interested. Just leave a comment below and we will put you on the waiting list.

Verses for the day...

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden and overburdened, and I will cause
you to rest, [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take my yoke upon you and
learn of me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest
(relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For my
yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gra-
cious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.”
Matthew 11: 28-30 (Amplified Bible)

Cool pictures to make cards...

I've started collecting vintage/retro pictures to make cards and tags. Here are some I found with the help of 'google'. (These are the ones I was telling you about Jules). Now I need to hit the 'garage sales, markets and vinnies'...
Looking forward to sitting down soon and getting my birthday cards organised for the year. Mmmm... I remember thinking the same thing, this time last year. Nothing like making a card as you're running out the door on your way to the party. :)
