Teddy Bears Picnic

At playgroup this week we went on a "Teddy Bear's Picnic".  We had such a lovely time. Jack really enjoyed taking his teddy to the different activities. The teddys had a great time too flying into the air. There was a first aid area where all of the teddys lined up for bandages and bandaids. Nurse Kahrie was a great help.

Storytime was read by beautiful Laura. The children sat under a shady tree and listened to Laura read "Where's My Teddy?"

There was even somewhere for the bears to go and have some food.

Jack had a great time making a hat for teddy. We even went on a bear hunt and found small animal paw prints in the concrete. Everyone really enjoyed themself. It's so nice to be part of a special group of families.

Odd socks...

What is it with odd socks? I just went through the sock basket in the laundry and I have about 20 odd socks. Where on earth do they go? There must be a sock monster in the washing machine that eats them... Anyway, I have found a use for them. Isn't this elephant so cute. It's made out of socks. Only problem is I don't have any odd socks that cute. I will have to go and buys some just to make this.

My parents...

I've just been flicking through some old photos and found this one of my parents wedding. Isn't it beautiful.
They are the best parents in the world and I am so proud to be there daughter. They are also amazing grandparents.

Verse for the day...

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deuteronomy 31:8

Walk a little slower Daddy...

Walk a little slower, Daddy, said a little child so small,
I’m following in your footsteps and I don’t want to fall,
Sometimes your steps are very fast, sometimes they are hard to see;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy, For you are leading me.
Someday when I’m all grown up, You’re what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child, Who’ll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right, And know that I was true;
So walk a little slower, Daddy, For I must follow you.

Early morning country drive...

I was given a lovely surprise this morning for our wedding anniversary. Biggsie told me to wake early and get ready for a drive in the country to the markets. We were up at 5.30am and off for a family drive the back road up to Mt Tambourine. Just driving up the mountain through the rainforest with the windows down was so beautiful and refeshing. It was quite fresh and nippy so we grabbed our jumpers and continued on. We passed a couple of garage sales (which always gets my heart racing) and looked at the amazing view from the top of the mountain and arrived at our destination. The Country Markets... after a quick look through, we headed straight for the food area under the gum trees. Biggsie sat me down and went and got me a bacon and egg toasted sandwich and a fresh juice (apple, carrot, ginger and beetroot). And after he finished his asian brekky omlette he bought a plate of poffertjes and a latte for me as well. We then found some sun to warm up and bought some crisp stanthorpe apples, lady finger bananas, avocados and yellow box honey. Jack enjoyed the farm animals and Biggsie found a stove top espresso machine that he had been looking for.
After the markets we had fun exploring the country roads and discovered a garage sale (unfortunately it had sold all the decent stuff) but had fun looking at houses and gardens that we wouldn't have seen if we hadn't got off the main roads and explored a bit. There was a few more stops for avocados from stalls in front of peoples homes and then some watercress and free range eggs.
Oh and the bakery for some fresh bread for lunch.
We had such a lovely day together. Then when we got home, I got a new camping chair as well. I felt very spoilt.

Thank you Kez...

Thanks Kerrie for dropping in with a meal and some homemade cookies. Jack was so excited too to get a present from your boys. In the midst of sickness, pain and sadness it was nice to receive something special from a special friend. You are so thoughtful and caring. Such an inspiration to me. Love you heaps.

I feel very blessed to be surrounded by such beautiful friends that have sent messages and emails to me. Your prayers, love, support and encouragement have been greatly received at this season in my life. Love you all.

Pa Biggs has gone to heaven...

John Christopher Biggs
29/6/41 - 4/3/08

Pa Biggs went to be with Jesus yesterday at 11.30am. We will miss him very much. He has been part of my life for 21 years and he was a very special Father-In-Law. He had cancer for nearly 5 years but he now has no more pain and suffering.
Thank you to all our friends for your love, support and prayers at this time.
