More beautiful birds in our yard...

The bird on the right looks like he is in the Toyota ad on TV. "Oh what a feeling!!!"

Nature journalling...

God's creation is all around us. We love looking for different creatures in our yard.

Love the beautiful stripes on this moth.

I found this nest when I was trimming back our Hibiscus bush.

Check out the amazing blue on this bug's tail and back.

Beautiful birds in our back yard...

I love these little birds that land in our back yard. They sing the the most beautiful song. Laura took these photos for me.

Seaworld annual pass expires soon...

We went to Seaworld on Saturday and it was such a beautiful day. The weather was perfect. Our annual pass expires soon. :(  We have really enjoyed taking our time to watch all the different shows and go on all the rides without having to rush. Here are a couple of pics from Saturday. Laura spent most of the time behind her camera so we don't have any pics of her...

Enjoying the dolphin show.

Stopping to rest before we went to have coffee and morning tea. We normally take our own food with us but didn't have time.  The tomato sauce was 60c to go with our sausage rolls.
What a rip off.

Jack loves driving around in the trucks at Sesame Street Beach.

Verse for the day...

"But seek first his Kingdom and righteousness, and all these things (that we are thinking about, worrying about and praying about) will be given to us as well.  Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of it's own..."   Matthew 6:43,44

Sharing the morning together...

Laura offered to play with Jack and look after him while I caught up on some house work last week. They had a great time painting pictures together and then Laura made a special morning tea that they shared on the trampoline.
Thank you Laura for being such an incredible big sis, and for all that you do to help me.
Jack loves you very much and will remember all the special things you do for him.

New rose...

I already have 10 red rose bushes, but a few months ago I bought 3 new rose bushes. They are beautiful 'David Austen' roses.  This is a photo Laura took of my first rose on the bush to bloom.  It's called 'Mary Rose' and the fragrance is amazing.  There is another rose bud about to bloom behind it.

The other roses are about to bloom as well. They are called 'Wife of Bath' and 'Graham Thomas'.  Here are some photos I found of what they will look like when they bloom.

Thank you God for beautiful roses for us to smell and enjoy.
Everywhere I look I see beauty in your creation...

Kookaburras visiting...

These beautiful Kookaburra's have been visiting us in our backyard nearly everyday for about a week. They are one of my favourite birds. Jack said they are laughing because they are happy, and they are happy cause they are with us.
When we hear them we go outside to look at them and talk to them in Kookaburra language.
Thank you God for creating birds for us to enjoy.

Day out in Brisbane...

On Wednesday we went into the State Library in near Southbank with friends and had a lovely time.  Jack loves playing on the computers in The Corner.  The Corner is an area for children to visit with free activities, dress ups, books and games.

We also visited the children's art centre at the Gallery of Modern Art where the Picasso collection is currently showing. Laura and Jack made free paper sculptures and masks. Okay, I made some too. It was a great day out.

Mooloolaba

I love Mooloolaba. The kids and I stayed with my parents while hubby was away on a fishing holiday. It was so relaxing to sit and watch the surf roll in. Laura and I sampled alot of potato scallops and sipped coffee while Jack enjoyed the local playgrounds.

These were the winning scallops.

And Jack enjoyed his baby cinno when we called in at Kawana Waters to get the groceries.

Treasure hunting...

You never know what you're going to find at our local op shops.
We like to call in there and check if there are any bargains.
Last time we went, Jack found this wig in the toy section. And 'no' we didn't bring it home. But we did bring home the polar bear he is holding. His name is Harry and Jack loves visiting the polar bears when we go to Seaworld.  Harry now has a new home and Jack loves to cuddle him when he watches TV.

My man...

Nice to have my hubby home from his fishing trip.

Verses for the day...

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:12

"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:4,5

God is showing me very clearly that these verses are for me in this season of my life.

Cosy blanket...

If I could crochet I would make this blanket for my day bed but I can't, so I won't...

Richard Scarry bargain...

Jack loves reading Richard Scarry books. I always loved them as a child too. Looking for 'lowly worm' or 'goldbug' on every page. I have even kept some of my old books for Jack.
A few weeks ago I dropped in at my favourite op shop and couldn't believe me eyes when I found a 'Richard Scarry' Doona Cover. I have never seen one before and didn't even know that they printed fabric. I also bought an old double quilt and my Mum cut in down to single size and sewed it with binding (such a perfectionist) and now Jack has a special reading quilt that I am going to put in the family room with his books.

Misty Mountain holiday...

In May, we went away with our beautiful friends, Tiff, Luke, Ellie and Tegs. We finally got to see this place they have been telling us about for years. We had such a great time. Here are some pictures of Misty.

This is a beautiful spot where I would love to build a holiday cabin... There are incredible views of the mountains from this spot. I love the big tree here. And yes, that is Laura swinging upside down in the tyre swing.

Jack loves tractors.
This is the swing near the house we stayed in. I had to look the other way when Chris was pushing Jack on the swing. It went a little high for me and was on the edge of the hill...

We enjoyed 4wding on the 3000 acre property. I am so thankful to God for providing us with a 4wd so we can explore and create family memories together.

Ok... Chris would like everyone to know that this is not our 4wd. We had to roll backwards down the hill to get out of the way. Oh and did I mention the cartwheel Chris did when the stick he was pushing on, broke...

Misty Coffee drive...

One day at Misty, the Smithies took us on a drive to this nearby town and showed us an amazing little coffee shop. The scenery on the way was so beautiful. We stopped heaps and Laura took lots of photos.

Me and my girl...

The scenery was amazing...

Gotta love the creek crossings...

Jack has discovered baby cinos and loves them...
