Easter 2009 - Helicopter rescue

While we were camping one day, we got to see a 'mock rescue' with a helicopter in the river.
The other families that we camp with had gone to Underwater World for the day and due to the 'current financial crisis' we stayed back at the caravan park. I was worried that Jack would feel left out because his friends had gone off to Underwater World but God had everything under control. He knows the desires of our heart. Chris saw the helicopter flying low over the top of the caravan park and raced up with Jack to see where it was going to land. The community rescue helicopter was celebrating it's 30 year anniversary and they were going to do a 'mock rescue' half an hour later. They handed out free frisbees, water and sausage sizzle. Jack was so excited.

Helicopter coming in to rescue a SES Volunteer...

Man rescued...

Some kid pretending it was a remote controlled helicopter... :)

The chopper was very loud and this poor boat going past probably wondered what on earth was going on...

After he was rescued, the chopper flew away and then came back and dropped the old fella back in the water. We got sprayed with water too...

Bye bye...

A second chopper was on the ground in the park to have a look at.

Thank you Lord for letting this happen for Jack. (Okay, even Mummy enjoyed it too) :)
