Easter 2009 - Helicopter rescue

While we were camping one day, we got to see a 'mock rescue' with a helicopter in the river.
The other families that we camp with had gone to Underwater World for the day and due to the 'current financial crisis' we stayed back at the caravan park. I was worried that Jack would feel left out because his friends had gone off to Underwater World but God had everything under control. He knows the desires of our heart. Chris saw the helicopter flying low over the top of the caravan park and raced up with Jack to see where it was going to land. The community rescue helicopter was celebrating it's 30 year anniversary and they were going to do a 'mock rescue' half an hour later. They handed out free frisbees, water and sausage sizzle. Jack was so excited.

Some kid pretending it was a remote controlled helicopter... :)

The chopper was very loud and this poor boat going past probably wondered what on earth was going on...

After he was rescued, the chopper flew away and then came back and dropped the old fella back in the water. We got sprayed with water too...

Bye bye...

A second chopper was on the ground in the park to have a look at.

Thank you Lord for letting this happen for Jack. (Okay, even Mummy enjoyed it too) :)

Laura loved having a piccalo (short latte) from the coffee shop when we got our coffees...

Beautiful flowers from the markets on Sunday and a pot of 'blue earl grey' tea from the tea shop.

It did and the rest of the week was beautiful weather...

Easter 2009 - More camping photos...

It's become a tradition that Jack has a little green frog cake from the bakery while we are camping at Cottontree.

It dissappears quickly...

I love relaxing and getting some stitching done.
It's also a great to sit around in the evenings while the children are all asleep and have a Baileys and chat.

"Cottontree Cup 09"...

This year we only had one event for the cup. It was cricket on the beach...

All our lovely husbands before the match...

Go Biggsie... The ball misses Zach's head...

Last year's winner of the cup, Joey, tries to win again...

C'mon Paul, catch the ball...

Looks like Darran's playing air guitar...

Nice swing Ulrik...

Elder Guyatt has a bat... or a squat...

And the winner of the Cottontree Cup is...... Matthew Walcott!!

And after the game, the kids had a go....
"Laura, it's a bird, it's a plane.... not it's a ball bowled a little bit high." :)

Easter 2009

We had a lovely time camping at Cottontree Caravan Park with 6 other families for Easter. This is our 5th year camping together.

This is Laura and her easter present. We can't show you her face, cause she just got out of bed. (We can show you Matt's face in the background. I wonder what he is borrowing this time) :)

Jack loved his new 'Bob the Builder' torch and eggs. Poor bunny lost his chocolate ears pretty quick...

It's nice to have friends that your children can look up to and learn from. Mmmmmm.....
On a serious note, Matt always takes the time to make sure Laura is included on our camping trips. Laura is the oldest child and the youngest adult.

Easter Sunday, making our sand castle in the shape of a cross and sharing with all the children the real meaning of Easter...

It's great to see all the kids building the cross together...

I'd love to know what these two monkies are talking about...

Aren't they cute...

Fun at the beach...

While we were on holidays, Chris wrote the kid's names in the sand with Jack's little excavator at Mooloolaba.

I have so much more I want to blog about but I need to finish organising my office first. I just had a quick break to post this. I'll be back soon... :)

Jack is riding his bike without training wheels...

Chris took off Jack's training wheels last week and Jack rode his bike straight down the driveway and into our street.
With some quick instructions on turning, Jack was riding all by himself.

Jack loves riding his bike. Every morning he asks me I can come and sit out the front and watch him while he rides. Now he's doing stunts... He rides with one hand and then puts both feet up. Mummy sits on the lawn waiting with the bandaids. None needed yet. :)
